Tidehop

Privacy policy

Effective 16 October 2026. Applies to the Tidehop app for Android (package com.tidehopgame.tidehop).

Tidehop is a pixel platformer game. This page explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. There is no account to create, and we don’t sell your personal information.

Information that stays on your phone

Your progress, coins, upgrades, pearls collected, saved flags, daily check-in streak and settings are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Tidehop is free and shows a banner on its menus and optional rewarded videos through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect:

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Tidehop under Settings > Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s Android settings.

Google’s use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)

To understand which levels players enjoy and where they get stuck, the app may send anonymous usage events to Google Firebase Analytics, such as starting or finishing a level, earning or spending coins, watching an optional video and collecting the daily check-in. These events are tied to a random app-instance identifier, not to your name or email. Firebase may also collect basic device information such as model and operating-system version.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Tidehop shows an evening reminder when check-in coins are waiting. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and need no internet connection or server. You can turn them off in the game’s Settings or in Android’s notification settings.

Children

Tidehop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us below.

Data security and retention

Data sent to Google’s advertising and analytics services travels over encrypted connections and is kept according to Google’s policies. Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app.
